Butterfly Stretch for Better Hip Mobility - CORE Chiropractic

– Butterfly stretch. Here you wanna be
comfortable on the ground. You're gonna sit in a butterfly stretch. So you're bringing your feet so that they're facing each other, the bottoms of your feet
are touching each other and then you're gonna bend
your knees and push them away. You can use your arms to
get a little more of a push on those legs and really
open up the inner thigh but you're sitting here
so you can allow gravity to pull your legs apart
and help you to stretch. Lean into it. You can feel that low
back open up as well. But the focus of this is to
try to open up the inner thigh and get a nice stretch here.

You wanna start with a
minimum of 30 seconds but do try to build up to two minutes. You also wanna focus on
any pain in your knees. So if there is any tension
or some scar tissue in there that's uncomfortable, then
you're gonna have to modify this. You don't want pain in your knees. You want the stretch to
be in the inner thighs and just being able to
hold that there gently, so that you can get a good stretch with the butterfly stretch.
